MODULE 2

I just started module 2 in this online program. My professor is Nicola, she 100% energy. Í have set some personal goals for this course:
(1) Go back home from class and do at least one task minimum
(2) dedicate every saturday to work on online homework
(3) write in my blog at least once a week.

I know I can do it, these are simple to achieve goals, let´s see how it goes.

My Online Course Goals

Goal 1:
I would like my students to be able to collaborate online by developing social network skills
Literature Circles goes hand by hand with cooperative learning. Technology can make this even richer than face-to-face meetings. Through chat rooms or blogs you can be able to share without limits what you think about a portion from a book and receive moreinsights from it and enrich your knowledge.

Goal 2: I would like my students to use technology to share with the world their Literature Circles insights from books of interest
Blogs,Xmind, bitstrips, google presentation and docs are just a few online tools to use in order to share what they think about the book we are reading.

Goal 3:
I would like my students to apply Literature Circles with a group of students or partners and practice the skills they have learned
During the course they will be part of a Literature Circle but it will be required to join/create another group in which they can share and putinto practice what they have learned in the course.

Is it all about motivation when it comes to Distance learning?

I started this online course 2 months ago. I was very excited to be part of a great group of teachers and researchers. My aim is to creat a curriculum about Literature Circles for next semester. I like the subject, I got the computer skill I felt motivated BUT I found myself stuck and behind with the assigments. Besides all the activities in which I am involved in my personal life I thought that nothing would discourage me from working on this. What a greater motivation than working in such a ambitious project in a great university? But now two months later i feel very frustrated because I know I should have done thismuch better.

I think I have come to the conclusion that having the skill and motivation is an incomplete equation. There is one more element..this is DISCIPLINE. You can be very motivated to do something but there is no way you will do it if you don`t organize yourself. Without discipline motivation can be put down and the results won`t be the expected ones.

My first module

First thoughts:
1. This will be pretty easy
2. I have pretty all the skills I need to deal with technology
3. I´ll defenitely have fun during this module
4. The most important skill is to be high-tech

Current and final thoughts:
1. This is really difficult
2. I am not good at dealing with virsuses and hardware in general
3. I didn´t have fun at all, neither i worked as i should have.
4. The most important skill is to be DISCIPLINED

I don´t have anything else to say...
